What a great race! I was hoping just to finish under 30 minutes on this one but it seems like my recent speed training has yielded a nice reward. This is officially a "New Era" 5K PR for me with a finish time of 27:40. I had done a faster 5k on a treadmill back in 2009 but that really didn't count since it wasn't a race. Needless to say, I 'm satisfied with my performance and hope to build on it.
As for the race itself, thumbs up all around. The organizers (Greater Ft. Lauderdale Road Runners) did a wonderful job with on course support and the after party. All kids of food and drinks and awards for top finishers. I would definitely recommend this race.
